The Appomattox Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual dinner at the Appomattox Inn and Suites on Saturday, November 9, 2019.  A Meet & Greet social hour will begin at 6:00 PM followed by dinner at 7:00 PM.  The keynote speaker for the evening will be Appomattox native Warren Coleman, Chairman of the James Madison University Foundation and Vice Rector of the JMU Board of Visitors.

Upon graduating for ACHS in 1975, Warren enrolled at JMU to continue his sports career and to pursue a degree in business. He achieved the status of Academic All American during his football career and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1979 with a Bachelors of Business Administration- Accounting.

Warren served as a graduate assistant with the football team and taught in the business school while completing his Master in Business Administration in 1981.

He joined the firm of Ernst & Whiney and achieved the status of CPA. His career in private business included roles of Controller at Philip Morris USA, CFO of Chesapeake Capital Corporation a money management firm and CFO of ICA LLC a firm which he was also co-founder. In additions to these position, he has been involved in numerous start-up companies and has served on numerous for profit and non- profit boards.  His main support has always been to JMU where he has served as president of the Duke Club.

In 2018, Warren accepted the position of CEO of the JMU Foundation and plans to use his Realtor’s license and business experience to steward and grow the assets of the Foundation.

Warren and his wife of 40 years, Judi Spear Coleman live in Rockingham County and have three adult children and five grandchildren.

Reservations can be made online via the Chamber’s website (www.appomattoxchamber.org) or at the Chamber office, 276 Court Street, MWF, 9-2.  Cost for the dinner will be $25 for employees of Chamber Members, their guests and for any sponsored student; all others can attend for $35.   Make your reservations soon to assure a place.

The Chamber wishes to fill the venue for this event in order to honor the accomplishments of Mr. Coleman and to inspire local residents with his accomplishments.
